The British 95th regiment, known as a "rifle regiment", specialized in light infantry. They were early adopters of the highly accurate Baker rifles, a marked improvement from traditional muskets. Unlike other British infantry units wearing bright red coats, the 95th regiment donned dark green uniforms, an early version of camouflage. Their fighting style was loose and flexible, in line with other light infantry units of the era. They were active in the Peninsula campaign and fought in the decisive battle of Waterloo.
